Dr. Arijit Biswas currently serves as a Principal Scientist at Tata Steel, where he is actively involved in research and development initiatives focused on the decarbonization of the steel industry. His work encompasses several cutting-edge domains, including hydrogen-based technologies, Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS), and Carbon Direct Avoidance (CDA), integrated into the steel sector through simulation and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approaches. He has co-authored 20+ research papers and more than 20 granted patents.
Throughout his career, Arijit has successfully led multiple projects from laboratory-scale research to pilot-scale implementation, achieving Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7.1 in areas such as hydrogen generation and industrial waste valorization. With nearly 14 years of national and international experience, his expertise spans iron and steel production, ferroalloys, and copper manufacturing processes.
